Why create this new tournament?
Ultimate continues to grow in popularity in high schools throughout BC. Last year, the BC Junior Ultimate Championships (BCJUC) had more teams wanting to participate than field space available. As well, some schools have a long history of Ultimate in their athletic program, while others are just starting out, and consequently, not as strong. This high demand for tournament opportunities and the wide variety of experienced and novice teams has prompted the BCDSS to expand the Provincials to include up to 36 teams: 16 in the BCJUC-Tier 1 tournament and 20 in the BCJUC-Tier 2 tournament.
For information regarding how your school can qualify for the BCJUC-Tier 1 tournament, see the Juniors website

What can my team expect at the BCJUC Tier-2 tournament?
This tournament will have a balanced combination of competitiveness and Spirited play, with a strong focus on developing an Ultimate program for the future. Giving students an opportunity to compete in a structured Provincial tournament will provide valuable experience and benefits for each team in the years to come.

How does my team register?
Teams that are certain they will be playing in the BCJUC Tier-2 tournament can email Ryan Sun immediately at ryan_sun89@hotmail.com and then register to secure a spot. If your team does not receive a regional bid to BCJUC Tier-1 after your league playoffs in May, you can still register BEFORE the May 14th deadline.
